What's new with the Fundraising Programme?
The voluntary sector continues to expand and
change meaning the skills and needs of fundraisers continues
to change. Which is why the Fundraising Programme continues to
offer new courses to meet your training needs.
This year we have introduced five new courses
touching on some of the hottest new areas of interest including
online communities, increasing individual giving, making the
most of your annual accounts and how to go beyond grants to increase
your income streams.

This one day course is for those
working in small to medium sized organisations who are involved
with or wish to start corporate fundraising but have limited
experience. You will receive the tools and confidence to
develop support from, and build relationships with, corporate
partners.
'How to' Develop Corporate Support will teach you how to:
- Identify the key characteristics of corporate fundraising
- Identify potential corporate partners
- Approach corporate partners and maintain relationships with
them
- Deal with ethical issues
- Tax and VAT implications
- Approach, create and maintain relationships
In addition to the training, you will receive a copy
of The UK Guide to Company Giving (RRP £50). The
course is being offered on 02 Feb in London. Fees

This one day course is for those
who are interested in the huge potential of annual accounts as
an additional fundraising tool. You will receive tools to enhance
your fundraising effectiveness by influencing the presentation
of your annual report and accounts.
Using Your Annual Accounts to Improve Fundraising Effectiveness will
teach you how to:
- Feel confident fielding initial questions from a donor about
your charity's annual accounts
- Appreciate the potential impact of an annual report that
goes beyond basic compliance
- Perceive what donors expect from annual reports, and give
a key input into the preparation
- Explain the composition of fundraising-critical financial
performance ratios reported on the Charity Commission's website
- Use the best structural and style options for your annual
report by reviewing illustrations from award-winning reports
- Understand the basic requirements for an annual report and enhancing
impact statements

For those who need a more structured introduction to fundraising
and their role within a fundraising organisation. Over the course
of four days you will extend your knowledge and
skills of the planning and practice of fundraising and increase
your ability to identify and address your fundraising needs.
You will learn how to:
- Establish and communicate an effective case for support
- Identify the nature and type of research required to inform
fundraising decisions
- Understand the donor motivation and how to develop a long
term donor commitment
- Plan, organise and allocate resources for fundraising
- Evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising
- Identify key legislation and the regulation of the fundraising
process
- Be aware of team principles and motivation theory
The next four courses will take place 22-25 Feb in
London; 09-12 Feb in Glasgow; 01-04 Mar in Manchester;
and 23-26 Mar in London . Fees start

Successful

For fundraisers who manage or aspire to manage the fundraising
function. This five day course will
develop your skills in fundraising planning and strategic
development, alongside tools for managing the staff and resources
to support the fundraising function.
Upon completion, you will be able to:

strategy

- Evaluate the effectiveness of the fundraising strategy
- Work with others to achieve organisational objectives
The course will next be offered 15-16 Feb and
08-10 Mar in London. This course is split
over different dates because we understand that participants
often have difficulty being away from the office for an entire
week.

This two day course is for
anyone who has responsibility for, and some experience of, developing
charity partnerships with companies. By the end of the two days
you will have the knowledge and skills needed to research,
negotiate and manage corporate partnerships to the benefit of
charitable causes.
You will learn how to:
- Understand companies and their motivations and expectations
when working with charities
- Develop and negotiate appropriate packages to meet the
needs of both charity and company
- Preserve operating revenue during a capital campaign
- Build campaign leadership
- Develop a corporate fundraising strategy
- Generate ideas for win-win partnerships
- Handle negotiations and meetings
In addition to the valuable training, delegates receive a
